The number one reason being that it was really the last big movie that we got to see the late Heath Ledger in. It was a sad moment in time that made the movie all the more memorable. It gave us a taste of the ambition and commitment that this actor had in his life, and it really showed through in his part as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
Number two is thinking like a girl…because I am one…WHO doesn’t like to look at the hot hunk Christian Bale as the buffed bad ass Bruce Wayne aka Batman. In this installment of the Batman movies Bruce Wayne is in a dark place he has just lost everything and he lets Batman take over his life. Even Rachel has been lost to the smooth talking crusader Harvey Dent.
This theme of chaos and destruction is constant throughout the entire movie. Prisoners escape the Joker is wreaking havoc on the city. People are trying to be Batman themselves and getting themselves killed in the process, it’s safe to say that it’s a huge mess in
Despite the tomfoolery and ridiculousness that
There are the action packed scenes where Batman is cracking skulls and getting the bad guy. Then there are the emotional ones like when Rachel and Harvey are in trouble and
Although it is action packed and is about a comic book hero, aka kind of a guy movie, they did a great job of making this movie for a multitude of different movie goers. I thought that it was well made and one of those movies that you just can’t wait for the story and the characters to come back and continue where they left off.
It has a fantastic cast and will stand the trail of time in my book. IMDB gives it a 8.9/10 and I would have to agree and give it a 9/10. Bring on the next Batman Movie!
I absolutely loved the movie The Dark Night! I feel like it is one of the most uniquw movies out today. There is not another one like it. My favortie character is the joker (proabably along with many other people). This role was played almost too well. He captured the evil side by making it almost funny but yet intimidating. No one wanted to mess with the joker and I sure would not want to either. The joker was not your average bad guy though. He went about being evil in a different way. I even loved the jokers costume. The make-up really make him that much better. I also thought how serious the Batman played was awesome. He was a serious businessman but at night was also very serious about keeping the streets safe. All the technology Batman used was way too cool. This movie was all around an awesome film. Sometimes making a second one to a hit movie, it ruins the movie. So, I do not think that making a second one would be a good idea. I think that this movie is good enough to be played and talked about for awhile. Not a lot of movies get a 8.9/10 but this movie 100% deserved it. I could watch this movie over and over again and still get chills at some parts. My favorite part would have to be when the joker is driving the semi. I loved this part because I thought it was captured so perfectly. The joker is driving this huge vehicle while destroying he city and he just laughs and says "i love my job." Like this is just so casually said and done. It just sets a good mood for a the movie and scene even. This movie had a big part to do with separating the villians from the good guys. They were trying to lock up mobs and other "villians" that they wanted off the streets. A big problem in the movie was that everyone wanted Batman to unmask himself so that the joker would stop destroying the city and killing people. The Batman did not unmask himself which was making everyone more fusterated and it ended up at the end that the Batman is strong enought to keep on running and keep on fighting. He can do that so he will do that. I think that the city does need him. As much as some people in that city think they do not need him, they do. It is a very corrupt city and I think they do not realize that. All in ALl, gerat movie and excellent reviews that it deserved! It is one of my favorite movies for sure!

ReplyDeleteI have to say your blog is for sure one of my favorites because I love watching movies and reading reviews to see what other people thought and I wish I would of thought of this idea. The Dark Knight is definitely up there with one of my favorite movies of all time. First of all ever since I was a little kid I have loved batman to death, I am pretty sure I have seen all of the movies at least three times and watched almost every television show that came out. This movie I thought was so much better than Batman Begins in a sense that it was so dark and mysterious it didn’t just show Batman saving the day it showed him fighting his personal life, his emotions, and crime. Heath Ledger was absolutely amazing in this movie and it is really sad that this was one of the last performances we get so see of him, because he truly could of become an amazing actor. Even though I read several articles after his death of how playing the dark and crazy Joker character had not affected his personal life, I was worried. I read an article on how Jack Nicholson came up to Heath when he was casted for the role of the Joker and told him that the role could change him. The character is so disturbed that Jack Nicholson himself had to go through lots of therapy after playing the Joker in one of the older movies and he urged Heath to be very careful. Christian Bale also surprised me a lot in this movie, I had seen a lot of his movies but I really think this was his best performance I have seen. Overall, you wrote a great review and I really enjoyed reading your other reviews.

I absolutely love this movie! R.I.P. Heath Ledger, you finished your career with one of the best movies you ever made. I watch this movie all of the time when I have an afternoon with nothing to do. Usually, I can’t stand to watch movies over and over again, but this one for some reason is different. Proof of this opinion, I saw this movie in theatres four times. Despite the dent it put in my wallet, I really enjoyed it each and every time. I’m a sucker for action movies.
ReplyDeleteThe complete chaos that begins the movie is what really captures the viewers. When I watched this movie for the first time I thought that the chaos would subside for a while until the end, but I was wrong. The chaos not only begins the movie but continually escalates throughout the movie. I am a Batman fan don’t get me wrong, but I love the Joker in this movie. I give Heath Ledger props on his acting, as well as Christian Bale and his acting with Batman. These two roles could not have been casted any better. They both exceeded my expectations.
Back to my interest in the Joker in the movie, many of my favorite parts have to do with the Joker, one of them being the scene where he blows up the Hospital. I don’t know why I’m so fascinated by this scene but every time I watch the movie and I see this part, I just get so excited. My other favorite part would have to be the beginning of the movie where the Joker and his crew of fellow Jokers rob the bank. At first I was confused as to why the Jokers were killing each other but then once I understood; I appreciated this part much more. I also loved the part following where the bus exited “quietly” back onto the streets of Gotham City. I give this movie one of the best ratings.
